Chili's, Clean Pantry and Chicken Tortilla Soup

Today we all woke up together which is rare with Eric's work schedule.  It was nice to lounge around this morning and have some company.  Eric had to do some studying for work, so Avery and I had fun playing around in the living room and watching the Disney channel.  She loves this butterfly teething toy!  She gets tons of drool all over it!
Avery and I met my friend Angie and her daughter Kinley for lunch today!  We had plans to go and get some awesome Mexican food at Trudy's, but found out that they are only open for dinner!  BUMMER!  We still had a really good lunch at Chili's.  The girls enjoyed looking at each other and playing with whatever they could get their hands on.  Avery started to get cranky as soon as we got our food, so I didn't get to eat as much as I would have liked!  Next time I'll be sure to scarf my food like a champ when we are out.  It was so nice to meet a new friend that is also a stay at home mommy!  Can't wait to hang out again in her neck of the woods.

Once we got home from lunch and I finally got Avery down for a nap, I started on my project for the day.  I wanted to clean out the pantry, freezer and fridge.  I got the pantry all cleaned out and well organized.  I tossed a bunch of old stuff that I knew we wouldn't use or had expired.  We have tons of room in there now! I also cleaned out the food in the fridge and freezer.  I didn't physically clean the inside of the fridge and freezer, that is another job!  But it was nice to toss old food and make room.  I love seeing lots of space.  I want to go grocery shopping!  Here is my nice clean pantry!

I tried a new recipe tonight that Angie gave me.  Chicken Tortilla Soup!  This was such an easy recipe to get together.  You just toss everything into the pot and simmer!  The house smells great and we are getting ready to sit down and enjoy a bowl.  I know it will taste delicious!
The Rockies play tonight, so we'll be watching some baseball before bed.  Tomorrow I have child care reservations at the gym so we'll see how Avery does being left again.  I hope she does well because I really need to start getting into a work out routine!  Enjoy your night!
