update

I've been MIA the past two days.  Avery has had a fever since she woke up yesterday morning.  She is very cranky and fussy.  She isn't drinking much and eating little.  We took her in to see the doctor today and we are monitoring her fever over night.  If she isn't fever free and feeling better tomorrow, we might be going back in for blood work and a urine test (which I really DO NOT want to have to do).  I want my little strawberry to feel better soon.  It makes me so sad to see her feeling miserable.

I'm hoping Avery sleeps through the night and feels 100% better by morning.  Have a good night!

getting ready for fall

Avery and I got up and out super early today.  Avery was up at 7:30am, she had breakfast, and then we headed out for our 30 minute walk around the neighborhood.  It felt great out!  It was 62 degrees when I left the house at 8am.  I wish it would stay that temperature all day long.  In the earlier part of today I was able to dress Avery in another one of her cute Halloween outfits.  After lunch I had to change her because it got too hot.  Isn't she cute?!  Her shirt says "I'm Boo-tiful".
After Avery took her morning nap, we made a quick run over to Target for a few things.  Avery was crying the entire time which made for a not so fun trip out.  Once we got home we spent the rest of the day cleaning, doing laundry, playing, and working on our bulletin board.  I took down all of the pictures we had up and put up a fall theme.  I think it looks pretty good so far.  I ordered a couple of pictures from fall of last year to put up.  I'll add any Halloween or Thanksgiving cards we may get this year, as well as new pictures of Avery this season.
Have a great night and Happy Wednesday!

nice day at home

Today was just a lazy day at home.  Eric was off today so it was nice to have everyone at home.  We went for a nice long walk around the neighborhood.  We stopped at the park before we came home and ended up meeting a few of our neighbors.  I met a few ladies who are stay at home moms with kids close in age to Avery.  One little girl we met was named Avery too!  All the moms meet at the park on Tuesday and Thursday morning.  I'm looking forward to taking Avery out and meeting some new friends!

We got a little laundry done and steam cleaned our hard wood floors.  I cleaned out our pantry of all the left over junk food we had from the party this weekend.  Some new additions to our pantry are these little pouches for Avery.  It is squeezable fruit and seems to be pretty popular with the little ones.  We haven't tried one yet, but I'll report back on how she likes them.
Since it got pretty warm today, I dressed Avery in one of her new outfits she got for her birthday.  My good friend Angie got her two little outfits with tank tops and adorable bloomers.  They are so cute.  Her big bow is from Angie too!

Since we stayed home all day, Avery had lots of play time.  She liked playing with her new stroller and babies this afternoon.  I love that she has a bunch of girly toys to play with now.  I always loved my dolls growing up, so I hope she enjoys them as much as I did.  I can't wait until she is old enough to play Barbies!
We made some delicious crock pot chili and rice for dinner tonight.  It was so nice to sit down with a warm bowl of chili with Eric once Avery was asleep.  We are spending our evening relaxing and watching a little baseball.  Have a wonderful night!

Sneak Peek!

I received the sneak peek of Avery's one year photo shoot last night.  I am in love with the pictures!  I can't wait to get the rest of them.  Thank you Tiffany!

photo shoot, halloween outfit, chuys lunch, first good bye

This morning we got up bright and early to get ready for Avery's one year photo shoot.  This is our last scheduled shoot with Tiffany from Tiffany Cross Photography.  The shoot went great and I can not wait to see the pictures!  We did a couple outfits, some props, and a smash cupcake!

Since it is October and officially fall, I decided to put Avery in one of her new Halloween outfits. I love Halloween so she has quite a few outfits to wear this month.  Now the weather just needs to cool off.

Today we all went to lunch at Chuy's.  They have delicious Mexican food.  Chuy's is my dad's favorite Mexican place in Austin, so we always try and go while my parents are visiting.  (Please excuse me in this picture, I have no make up on!).
Chips, salsa, and jalapeno ranch dip.  I filled up on this and couldn't eat much of my meal!  It is so good!
Avery ready to eat.  She had Cheerios, rice, refried beans, guacamole, and grilled chicken for lunch.
After lunch, we just spent the rest of the day at home hanging out.  Eric's mom left to go home this evening around 7pm.  We took some cute pictures before she left for the airport.

Tomorrow morning my parents head back home.  I love having family visit, but I enjoy getting back to normal too.  Tomorrow I'll be catching up on laundry and doing a bunch of cleaning.  I might also head to Target for a few things.  Eric is working in the afternoon and evening, but we'll have all day Tuesday together.

Happy Sunday!

Avery's Birthday Party (part 3)

Today we had Avery's birthday party at the house.  It started at 11am and ended around 2pm.  I know it is on the early side for a party, but I was trying to plan it between morning and afternoon nap time.  The food, decorations, and party turned out great!  It was so nice to have our parents here and our good friends over to celebrate Avery's first year.  The only thing that I would change about the day would be getting some better pictures of the party.  I wish I could have been more of the photographer, but it is hard when you are the host.

This was her party bib for when she ate her cupcake.
The birthday banner that I made with the help of my friend Angie.
The kitchen table with flowers, balloons, pom poms, and candy.
The cupcake towers.  The tower on the left had carrot cake with butter cream frosting and the tower on the right had yellow cake with chocolate butter cream frosting.  The cupcakes tasted delicious!
The drink counter.
Some of the food.  We also had two crock pots.  One pot had meatballs and the other pot had queso.
The birthday girl!  She was napping when most of our friends arrived.  She woke up around 11:30am and was ready to party.  Grandma Charlene made her the zebra and cupcake birthday wrap dress and bloomers.  It was so cute!
Avery and I... and yes, I look a little drunk and no, I wasn't. :)
Our little family of three.
Avery testing out the chocolate butter cream frosting.  She was pretty dainty about her cupcake at first, but then got down and dirty.
Just loving her cupcake!
After cupcakes, everyone gathered for the opening of presents.  Avery was over the party at this point and super cranky.  She wasn't interested in opening presents and was crying.  I didn't get any good pictures of the presents.  She received some really fun new toys and a couple pretty outfits.

Once the party was over and everyone went home, we all started dropping like flies!  Everyone was exhausted.  Eric and his mom crashed first.  Next was my mom.  Then Avery, me, and my dad.  We all woke up around 5pm and started on a little cleaning up.  We are all picking at party food for dinner and watching the Nebraska game.  Here we are all in our Huskers gear!
We're just hanging around the rest of the night.  It was a fun and long day.  Tomorrow morning we'll be up bright and early for Avery's one year photo shoot.  Happy Saturday!
